Tooth Extractions

Making Tooth Extractions Easier

At Waseca Family Dentistry, we generally try to repair or restore teeth if possible. Occasionally it is necessary to remove a tooth or several teeth by performing an extraction.

Tooth extractions are the removal of severely decayed teeth that cannot be restored because of the amount of decay or with severe periodontal disease that have lost most of the supporting structures like bone or gum tissue.

Options To Replace An Extracted Tooth

There are a few options to replace an extracted tooth. The options are:

  • Dental Implants
  • Bridge
  • Partial Dentures

Front Tooth Extractions

If a front tooth needs to be extracted, a temporary partial or bridge can be made and placed during the same visit as the tooth extraction. When the tooth extraction site heals, a permanent restoration can then be made.

Another option is a dental implant which can be placed at the time of the extraction if there is enough bone remaining.

Comfort Promise To Our Patients
